I visited Provo for a concert once again, this time we ended up at Muse Music Cafe to see “June Cat”.
Colin, the male part of June Cat, was my good friend, Lance’s roommate a few years back and actually owned Muse at the time. While going to school he paired up with Taylor to write a song for a music class (“When the World is Ready”). After finishing school, both Colin and Taylor ended up in California where they decided to give this whole duet thing a shot… and their band, “June Cat” was born.
They each have their own individual projects they are working on yet together they seem to grasp an almost Civil Wars vibe. I love their sound and all around easy-going nature.
My favorite part of the show though, had to be the impromptu dance party at the end during clean up. It kinda made me feel like I was frestylin’ with rock stars (which they just might be in a few years, so make sure to give them a listen).
